Maroon 5 ~ Maps ~

Maps | Maroon 5 |
Terjemahan Lirik Maps |Maroon 5 |
I miss the taste of a sweeter life
Aku rindu rasanya hidup yang lebih manis
I miss the conversation
Aku rindu perbincangan itu I'm searching for a song tonight
Kucari-cari sebuah lagu malam ini I'm changing all of the stations
Kuganti-ganti semua stasiun
I like to think that we had it all
Aku suka berpikir bahwa dulu kita miliki segalanya
We drew a map to a better place
Kita gambar peta ke tempat yang lebih baik
But on that road I took a fall
Tapi di jalan itu, aku terjatuh Oh baby why did you run away
Oh kasih, mengapa kau lari
I was there for you in your darkest times
Aku ada untukmu di saat-saat terkelammu I was there for you in your darkest nights
Aku ada untukmu di malam-malam tergelapmu
But I wonder where were you
Tapi aku bertanya-tanya dimanakah dirimu
When I was at my worst down on my knees
Saat aku di keadaan terburukku, bersimpuh
And you said you had my back so I
Dan kau bilang kau mendukungku maka aku
wonder where were you
Bertanya-tanya dimana dirimu
When all the roads you took came back to me
Saat semua jalan yang kau tempuh kembali
padaku

So I'm following the map that leads to you
Maka kuikuti peta yang menuju padamu
The map that leads to you
Peta yang menuju padamu Ain't nothing I can do
Tak ada hal lain yang bisa kulakukan
The map that leads to you
Peta yang menuju padamu
Following following following to you
Ikuti, ikuti, ikuti, padamu
The map that leads to you
Peta yang menuju padamu Ain't nothing I can do
Tak ada hal lain yang bisa kulakukan
The map that leads to you
Peta yang menuju padamu Following following following
Ikuti, ikuti, ikuti
I hear your voice in my sleep at night
Kudengar suaramu di dalam tidur malamku
Hard to resist temptation
Sulit tuk melawan godaan
Cause something strange has come over me
Karena sesuatu yang aneh tlah menghampiriku And now I can't get over you
Dan kini aku tak bisa melupakanmu No I just can't get over you
Tidak, aku tak bisa melupakanmu
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Ya ya ya
Ah ah ah
Following following following
Ikuti, ikuti, ikuti

How to Learn English Through Technology

How to Learn English Through Technology thumbnail
With technology you can take English learning on the go.
Learning English as a second language is challenging no matter what learning materials you use; however, technology can make learning English easier. According to Mary Masterson of Georgia State University, "the text, graphics, video, and audio [of multimedia] encourage immersion in language." Whether you plan to use a CD to practice English listening or a computer program to learn new grammar and vocabulary techniques, there are a number of ways that you can use technology to learn English.

Instructions

    • 1
Get an English language program for your computer or smartphone. Programs such as Rosetta Stone, Clarity and EC ESL Resources offer ESL training in reading, writing, speaking and listening. These programs allow you to move at your own pace, practicing and mastering one concept before you go on to another. The development of speech recognition software and headsets that include microphones has made this type of software even more effective.
Programs for your smartphone, such as PencilBot for iPhone and iPad, allow you to practice English on the go, whether you're on your morning bus commute or standing in line at a department store. Because the more you are immersed in the English language, the easier English language learning becomes, these technologies that allow you to have access to English no matter where you go are very beneficial. Indeed, Renee Ybarra's article in the Internet TESL Journal notes that computers can improve or expedite many facets of English language learning.
    • 2
Listen to or view English language programming on a CD, DVD or iPod. Whether you're listening to audio specially developed for English language learning or simply material in the English language, you are improving your English skills. According to the Online Education Database, one valuable resource for ESL students are the numerous free ESL podcasts available on the Web. You may also listen to or view English TV shows, movies and music in order to test your own pronunciation against the speaker's or practice your comprehension skills.
According to Mary Masterson, "The common technologies of television and videotapes are valuable learning tools, when used appropriately. With previewing, viewing, and post-viewing activities included, a wide array of activities can be used with video and television that provide both auditory and visual language experiences."
    • 3
    • Set your technological devices to English as the default language. Computers, phones, MP3 players, GPS systems and other technologies allow users to select from a list of languages. When you select English, you not only further immerse yourself in the English language, but you also provide yourself with a quick, practical and challenging ESL exercise whenever you need to use one of your devices.
    • 4
Use the Internet to engage in self-study and communicate with English speakers across the globe. According to the ESL Teachers Board, the Internet provides many options for self-study, as you can plan your own course by determining what you want to learn. You can also find English-speaking study partners by visiting chat rooms and participating in forums related to your interests. When you post in a forum, ask other members for help with your English, and you'll be surprised how many respond. In addition, you can use video chatting to practice pronunciation with English speakers.
    • 5
Take formal classes online by enrolling in an online college or university that offers ESL classes or hiring a professional private tutor. Distance learning courses such as these allow you to have the formalized instruction of an expert while keeping your flexible, learn-from-anywhere schedule.

How To Learn English Effectively

Have you ever tried to study English, but it turned out way too difficult for you? Well, let me tell you that the language of Shakespeare and Austen is easy once you keep in mind these 7 golden rules:

1. Always study and review phrases, not individual words.
Did somebody give you a dictionary when you started learning your native language as a child? No? Then why do you keep using it when studying a foreign language? Memorizing individual words has absolutely no sense without the context. Learning whole phrases is much more effective. For example, take the word “cantankerous” (meaning “disagreeable and ill-mannered”) - if you tried to memorize it just as it is, you probably wouldn't succeed. But if you put it into a sentence, e.g. “that grumpy cantankerous old man” it's bound to stay in your mind forever.

2. Don’t study grammar.
Cramming grammar is the quickest way to slow down your progress. When you start thinking about what construction to use, you begin to stammer, stop sounding natural. Your responses should become automatic to master the language, so instead of studying theory – take more practice! When you speak, you don't have time for considering what tense is appropriate, one hundred per cent correct. Grammar is important in writing, not in speaking.

3. Learn with your ears, not with your eyes.
One of the most common mistakes when studying a foreign language is relying solely on textbooks. Thanks to them you may know a lot of grammar and vocabulary, but you're still not capable of conducting a conversation. It is because you should learn English by listening and not by reading. If you listen more, you'll grasp useful vocabulary and grammar without even realizing it and without memorizing!

4. Learn English deeply.
Remember it's always about quality, not about quantity. Instead of learning dozens of new words in a short time, try repeating one, but dozens of times. When memorizing the phrases (remember the first rule!) slowly, you put them into the deeper parts of your brain so they don't fade away quickly.

5. Learn grammar by “point-of-view” stories.
Never learn grammar by heart. Instead listen to short stories that are told in various tenses. This way you will improve your grammar automatically and naturally. For example, if a story begins: “I don't like banana but I want to eat one”, the other stories would be like “I didn't like bananas but I wanted to eat one” and “I won't like bananas but I will want to eat one”. (The last sentence may sound a bit silly, but doesn't matter so much. In fact, we tend to learn strange and funny things easier.)

6. Use only authentic English materials.
Throw away any textbooks you possess! Practice your English by reading and listening to “real stuff” - unabridged and unsimplified versions of books, movies and podcasts. There's a lot of free materials for students of English who want to improve their language skills naturally, for example BBC or CNN podcasts.

7. Listen and answer, not listen and repeat.
A variety of English textbooks employs this completely useless method: “repeat after the speaker...”. You should answer the questions asked by the speaker instead of mindlessly retelling his words. If you practice listening with a podcast or a video, pause it every 20 – 30 second and summarize what has been said. You have to think quickly, so you stop bothering yourself with useless grammar and start to speak the real, living language! Maybe you have already heard or thought about these rules but now the time has come to put them into practice! Print and hang them on your fridge and, most importantly, act accordingly. I assure you that your English is going to improve in no time.

You’re a teacher but you’re not satisfied, why? Because all your students do is just yawn or chat with their friends whenever you talk. How do you avoid that? Teaching creatively is highly essential to ensure your 1 hour with the students is made into full use.

Steps

  1. Learn Arabic Step 4.jpg
    1
Check if you're creative. You need to tap your creativity first, only then will it flow into your classroom and finally reach your students. Know your lessons and how far out of the box can the lessons go e.g. Numbers: Games, algorithms, Sudoku Language: History, re-enactment, stories, role-playing.

  2. Make a Webquest Step 1.jpg
    2
Know what they need. Be aware of the level you are teaching and the absorption of information according to age:
    • Kindergarten: Attracted to vibrant colors & huge fonts, high absorption of information
    • Elementary: Learning curve, fill them with more information in a 50 % text/ 50% pictorial method
    • Secondary: Chances are they know what you’re saying, but there are many things that they could be ignorant on, tap on that. Study the style of each student, cater accordingly. You must always be more knowledgeable than them to awe them.
  3. Memorize French ER Present Tense Verbs Using Visual Imagery Mnemonics Step 2.jpg
    3
Study your students. Remember names, start with ambitions, their level of understanding and compliment them. Talk on their likes/dislikes. Study their character. e.g. If the student is a quiet one, make him answer some questions moderately (else you may be mistaken to pick on him), joke about, make him feel safe to share his thoughts.
    • The chatterboxes: Play along with them, divert their conversation to the topic, let them get excited and bring them back to the classroom topic.
    • The sleepy ones: Ask them why they are sleepy, if reasonable, let them sleep, for 5 minutes and let them be fresh for the rest of the session. (You will be respected and appreciated by some students at the same time. The lesson goes through amazingly well when the student is done with his power nap.)
  4. Read a Tale of Two Cities and Not Get Confused Step 1.jpg
    4
Vary and rotate the lesson tools. Make them become teacher for one day – this helps them get rid of fear of getting attention. Next, use pictures/puzzles/out of the box activities to make them alert. Have competition/quizzes/tests to let them be the winner. Mix & match the lessons, so that it is not too paper–centric/rigid. Connect lessons with their likes and dislikes. Challenge their level, tease their ego a bit to make self-initiate them to improve themselves
  5. Make a Successful Negotiation Step 7.jpg
    5
Change the environment. Change the classroom environment: change seats every week, just for one lesson. Have fun making seats face each other or in a circle – focus on you being able to reach out to ALL students, no one sits in a corner where you can't go near them or catch them dozing away. Say please and thank you if they rebel – feed them compliments later on.
  6. Learn German by Immersion Step 3.jpg
    6
Admit mistakes. If you wet their books in the rain, admit your fault, and buy them new books. You become a step closer to them – make a connection then. Maintain your integrity and always be humble to your students. Be assertive to those who are stubborn or if they rebel too much, focus on those who require your attention. Ignorance is bliss for that day.
  7. Prepare for the GRE General Test Step 6.jpg
    7
Break your lessons into, your time > their time > lesson time. If it’s language, try explaining in local language, slowly (after a month) mention that they should start converse in that language and finally (the next month) give them small penalty if they do not speak in the language taught. (Fun and interesting way of punishing, it should never embarrass the students). If it’s numbers, try to experiment with the speed level of each
